In a 20/20 news report, Matthew Shepard's story is examined...and what is found would shock.
The idea is that, yes Matthew was tortured to the point of death and that is unforgivable, but it might not have been a gay-hate crime.
Here are some interesting new finding that might just change your opinion of the case...
1. Henderson and McKinney came from bad homes.
2. All 3 boys were known partiers and were involved in the drug community (meth).
3. Matthew wasn't openly gay.
4. Henderson and McKinney were only looking to beat and rob him. They were on drugs and Shepard looked like an easy target, it wasn't a gay hate crime.
5. McKinney might be bisexual.
These are all the new "findings and claims" but it really is how you want to interpret the case.
